Registered Kinesiologist & Functional Corrective Exercise Coach
Oksana Wankiewicz holds a Masters degree in Professional Kinesiology from the University of Toronto and is a licenced Registered Kinesiologist with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO).
Throughout University, Oksana competed on the Varsity Rowing team while participating in research studies involving performance testing, to ensure athletes are optimizing their training and reaching peak performance. Her clinical experiences involve using prescriptive exercise as medicine to rehabiltiate neuromuscular disorders, chronic diseases, and improve mental health states through tailored activity. Oksana has also coached rowing and volleyball athletes and continues to work as a functional movement therapist among the sports of rowing, volleyball, soccer, hockey and ballet.
Her interests lie in coaching others how to move and improve physical function, whether that be in sport, work, or every-day activities. Oksana emphasizes the application of evidence-based research when tailoring a program specific to your goals, to help restore function, build confidence and independence, while guiding you towards creating healthy long-term habits. Her specific interests include optimizing movement for individuals with tendinopathies, as well as injuries of the shoulder, low back, hip, and knee. When Oksana isn’t running or strength training, she is attending seminars and research conferences to stay up to date with the most recent health literature to ensure her clients are provided with the most suitable personalized treatment and performance programs.
