What is IV Therapy?
Intravenous therapy is a way of delivering high doses of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients directly into your bloodstream where your body can easily, effectively and rapidly access and use them.
Why IV Therapy?
IV therapy is one of the fastest and most efficient ways to deliver fluids and medications to your body.
When we take pills or other supplements orally, much is lost in the digestion process. By injecting nutrients intravenously, we can bypass the liver and digestive system to increase absorption and directly affect the tissues and cells of the body. We can also deliver a higher concentration of nutrients at a much faster rate.
+ What kind of conditions can be treated with IV therapy?
Chronic fatigue syndrome
Rheumatoid arthritis and other musculoskeletal and neurologic conditions
IV’s are also used to boost energy, improve surgical recovery, improve sports performance, boost immune system and relieve everyday complaints like headaches, allergies and fatigue.
Will it hurt?
Besides the mild prick of the needle, IV therapies can be quite comfortable. You’ll have a chance to lay back, relax and think of your health (or anything else you want). In modern times, there are not many prescribed opportunities to relax and many of our patients look forward to their next treatment.
Is it safe?
Side effects and complications are rare. Most people tolerate IV therapy quite well, and have no trouble during or after the treatment. You might have some redness where the IV goes in, or a bit of tenderness, but overall it is quite comfortable.
How long does it take?
It depends on what type of IV you receive, but a treatment can be as short as 20 minutes, or as long as an hour or more.
